Tethered

As solid as a stone
And just as lifeless, stoic
Ethereal arrangement of texture
Beneath wandering fingertips

Unseen as the wind
So fluent in motion, presence
Courier of all things surrounding
Invisible hands that move the skies

An elemental establishment
Of my existence

Cardinality, a four of complexity
Complete when brought together
Burn away, wind of four directions
Destroy this earthen tether

Darkness burning away
Ashes remain from seared paths(pasts)
Volatile, treacherous when uncontrolled
A dangerous companion

Drowning, choking as the waters rise
Symbolic restful shores showing teeth
Failures float to the surface
From the depths of the raging sea
