Platform Change
She arrived on the platform with a slight awkward step, the final stair catching her out. Recovery from the little trip was a quick affair, glancing around to see if anyone had noticed the incident. Removing her black cardigan, and moving to the pillar, she rested herself against it, using it to straighten her back and increase her small height. She straightened out her dress, a short grey thing and resembling more of a slightly fitted smock. The morning sun bounced of the large white flower on the right side of her chest. Neither the flower or her dress had any real colour, but the contrast was incredibly prominent.
Waiting for the train, she looked almost bored, no paper, no book, no iPod for entertainment, she gazed up and down the platform, waiting. Waiting for Northern Rail to take her away.
In the end it wasn't a train that took her away. A voice sounded out over the crowd, and after a moment of confusion she was gone, following the calling voice. Platform change.

I love the contrasts in the story i.e. small girl, increase height; gray nondescript smock with large white flower; a place of hustle bustle, no occupation. The conclusion drove the contrasts further i.e. instead of something of movement that took her away, it was the ever-present voice of an announcer. Excellent piece!
